AICE Media Studies - Title research: Wonder Woman

I started my research by browsing on artofthetitle.com. I looked at many films that fit our group’s genre of choice, action, and on the website, I came across a variety of movies with amazing title sequences. One that caught my eye was Wonder Woman because it didn’t come out that long ago, so everything is more up to date, It was also very thrilling to look at. It was dark with flashes and sparks of bright colors to catch the eye of its audience and the bold letters made the words pop out as if they were in the 3rd dimension. It is clear with bright colors to contrast, bold, and eye-catching with assorted designs and activities clothing featured. Beginning before the opening sequence the warner bros and DC logos appear on the screen.it then transitions to a scene of the main character as a child running through tall healthy grass with the main character speaking about her home and where she came from. At this point there is still no sign of the cast or the director yet. The next scene is in a stadium where the crowd is roaring shaking everything around them and there’s people swinging and riding horses doing a series of crazy trials.. This helps give a clue to the audience of what’s about to come. Then when the m character is doing her part in the trials as a child it flashes back and forth between movements that are now being used to stop a group of bad guys. This is called a flashback commonly used to connect the past and present. Now the adrenaline rush is being given to the audience. In the post-ending credits, it had a lengthy list of names and roles in the film. I cannot really speak on why It did not have a title sequence, but the beginning helps the viewers understand the action and drama within the film to set the tone. This helps appeal to the target audience as it is what people are looking for and it pops up right away within the first minutes. It does not bore you from the get-go and it lures viewers into the rest of the film. The technology is substantially advanced because of the shots behind the gunman shooting at the main character and the bullets ricochet off the wrist of the main character . In the 20th century I feel that this would be exceedingly difficult and hard to come by. These shots give the dangerous and innovative feel of a modern-day action movie. this so-called title sequence was lacking in the actual movie, but the trailer had an amazing title sequence as shown in the photo below with the bullet being reflective and the determined look in the main characters eyes marching across the battlefield. This gives that excitement and tension scene in an action movie. did in fact learn good tactics on how to lure viewers in and how to do it effectively in just the opening sequence of a film and this will help me, and my group, succeed further with our own production.
